Last day of work

Well….for two weeks at least. And I am happy!! :) Oh so very happy!! The day went really fast, and pretty well…..but there were some things that just bugged me so much, some of it having to do with work itself, and others just the ppl that are there! We use to joke at Meijer that if it were not for all the ppl, we could do our jobs alot better!! :)

So I leave Monday morning just as the sun begins to peak its lil rays over the units in the east. {we dont have many hills around here,….despite the name of the city I live in. So the sun has to peak over the other houses instead of pretty hills! Oh how very city of me!} Plans have gotten changed up a bit, but that is part of what makes our vacations fun! Have to be to Iowa in the early afternoon now, but we cant just drive right on through to Carlisle, so we have to go at an earlier time than had been expected. Dad has said he is going to stop about every two hours for us, so this will also add time to our journey.

I am nearly all packed now I think. For the most part, I just have little things to pack, like in the backpack I am taking with me in the van. My clothing is all packed. Tomorow afternoon, after Church, we are going to pile everything into the van. This could take awhile. Oh, Sarah……I think Caeley has given me permission to keep all arms and legs with me for the trip! How sweet of her huh? Though,,,,,she has not said these exact words…she just not complained to me lately about how much I am taking vrs how little she is allowed! :) {and she had pretty much the reaction I thought she would when I told her you said Hi! Her face lit up, and she got all excited and while she did not ask to call you, she did ask if you had heard the messages she has left. :) }
Remembered at work tonight that I did not think to pick up stamps before at the store. :/ If I had been smart, I would have gone to the post office and gotten some postacard stamps to have ready for all of them I am plannin on sending. Oh well….I know where the post office is in Carlisle! lol. Maybe I will take a trip over there on Tuesday and get some then. May be down there anyway to stop in and say hi to a family we know {whos son in law was killed in action a month ago. He was stationed out of Ft Bragg but was in either Afganistan or Iraq, I cant remember which. He was not around when Kade and I were there, but we did meet his wife, very sweet lady.} so I may as well hop on over there…..they may have some cool stuff on sale again like last time! lol. I still love the fact that I know one of the places so well that we are going to. I mean, last time we went on vacation, it was new to all of us, so we all felt like what we were…..out of place tourists. This time though, I lived here for six weeks! I know all the stores, the good places to eat, the ppl, the school, the church! Cool cool!!

Dad took the three kids to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this afternoon, and asked if Kade and I would come along to help him keep an eye on the kids. I must say, the movie was not as bad as I had thought {Im sorry Tara, really….but I just dont like Jonny Depp at all!!! lol. So most any movie he is in, I do not have high expectations for!} though I still think Gene Wilder is a better Willy Wonka. I can see that he is nothing like what Tim Burton wanted as a Wonka, but I liked him in that role and probably will always think of him when I think of Willy Wonka…..I mean come on…..the cartoon on the candy bars now even looks like him……but not like Depp!!! The kids loved the movie and now cant wait till it comes out on DVD to see it again.

Got a letter in the mail today from the Doc. Another GRRR moment in dealing with doctors! Here I have been waiting for weeks to find out how we are going to treat whatever it was, and then another four days to find out how bad the cyst is……and what does the letter say? What I already knew!! The note on it from the doc said that the pelvic U/S came out normal, but that it revealed a ruptured cyst. “Come see me for treatment options as we discussed” which I am guessing means Birth Control will take care of it. Oh well. At least I do not have to worry and wonder and wait during vacation. I can put it out of my mind {other than these cramps! ouch!…..sorry to any guy reading this! Not something you needed to know I am sure} and then think about it again when I get home and call for a doc visit.

This song I am listening to is SO FUNNY! {and when I say that, I can hear Sara Watkins voice saying it!! lol!} It is a Nickel Creek song called Tax Man….ok so it is a cover Nickel Creek does called Tax Man. It is a live verson of it, and after they have finished the song, they all start talking. Sara says that they all went tubing down the river the other day, and it was totally wicked {or something to this affect} then Chris says he couldnt go,……………cause he gets cold! {wimp……..sorry….Thile is not on my most favorite list at the moment. He is going to have to do some fancy song writting to get back on it too!} Then Sara starts talking again and says “yeah, Chris is not a real water person. I am though…..I’m like a little lab.” it kinda goes quiet a bit {other than the sounds of the outdoor croud and noise} then Sean says “ah…..What??” She says, “A little lab….a….” Sean-”Did you just compair yourself to a dog???”Sara- “Well…yea…sorta….a water loving creature, you know……” pause Sean-”OH! You are so going to hear about this on the bus!!!!!” ROFL! Makes me giggle everytime!!!!

Hi didle o didnt you know…………it never gets old hearing grown men sing things such as Hi didle oh and, Kayuk kalum killeum killee eye, and hi didle ida didle ida da didlee oop die didle ida do da da….do da da….do da da. do da do da do da do da DA DA DA DA DA…..never! Never ever! LOL!! {Yes…I am in such a hyper mood tonight! However……when you listen to music where a guy sings the words Hi didle o….how can you NOT be?? I mean….come on!! Its Barry singing HididleOh!! Not as funny as Sean from GBS sing Little Beggerman……but it comes close!}

OO. Now it is GBS Sea of No Cares……….hhmmmm…..I dont think Alan sings any funny words during this one though. Sean gets the funny traditional songs!

I feel like I am forgetting to type something here…..and I know if I forget it, I am going to have to leave it like that for two weeks! OY!!

Oh. Please be praying extra hard again for my big sis Chris. She is having a really really bad week…….things were better last week which makes this week even harder.

I got another letter in the mail, besides the one from the doc. When I read the return address, I was confused. I do not know anyone in that state by that name. When I opened it and read the letter, I found out WHY I did not recognize the address and name. I dont know the person who sent me the letter. It is a young woman who read my article in HW and asked the editor to forward a letter to me. I nearly cried as I read the letter she sent, and the card that she included was so very sweet and thoughtful! Turns out, she had similar trials a few years ago, and related to my story. Her letter was very encouraging, and she sent a sympathy card of sorts for David and I saying that she was praying for us an our family, and also some tract like booklets that had scripture in it that she had found helpful and uplifting during her time of pain and worry. God is so good in bringing people into one anothers lives at such great times!!

“Its cloudy today, tomorow calls for sun! Our time here is ending, before our times begun. If I could reach for you, I’d grab ahold of you and cut the strings that hold you tight. Id rather you float free than be to worlds that never lined up right.” Go Barry!!! lol! HHmmm….wonder if I will get in trouble for posting those lyrics! This song was never released. heh. But I love it!

Does it seem like I just keep rambling on and on with no purpose? It does? Perhaps I am. I am having an Anne moment I think. “I’m afraid to speak or move for fear that all this wonderful beauty will just vanish like a broken silence.”

I suppose I should be heading to bed now. It is midnight, and I have to be up before 10 for Church and then we have a few big days ahead. Need to ’stock up’ on sleep.

I hope you all have a wonderful two weeks. I shall miss you very much, and you will be in my thoughts often I am sure. Letters and notes and postcards will be in the mail. Dont forget to post, and write and such while I am gone. It will give me something wonderful to look forward to when I return.

‘Til next we meet’

Call my friends to share some wine
To share some laughs, last goodbyes
My photographs of these years
will make me laugh through the tears

what are the odds?
what are the odds
this ends and we don’t meet again

what are the odds?
what are the odds
that i will miss your smile

take a while, take a while
take care and
fly away and see the world
take a while, take a while
take time and if you need rest i’ll keep your nest
changeless

let fondness be our souvenier
to keep it warm, we’ll keep it near
otherwise with no heart to recall
a memories just a memory afterall
I will not leave this pulse alone
though it may take the long way home
i will not wait until the end
for my applause for you my friend

what are the odds
what are the odds
this ends and we don’t meet again

what are the odds
what are the odds
that i will miss your smile

take a while, take a while
take care and
fly away and see the world
take a while, take a while
take time and
if you need rest i’ll keep your nest
changeless

what are the odds
what are the odds
what are the odds
what are the odds
this ends and we don’t meet again
what are the odds
what are the odds
this ends and we don’t meet again
what are the odds
what are the odds
that i have missed your smile

take a while, take a while
take care and
fly away and see the world
take a while, take a while
take time and
if you need rest i’ll keep your nest
changeless
