Carmella's Hang Out

Yesterday was the very last day of the Renaissance Festival……and while I was sure I was going to come home very very sad, I was far too excited and giddy to be so! I think next Saturday when I do not rush out the door in costume……a twing of sadness may hit me then as I realize that it will not be until 2006 that I will see any of those people or event and things again.
Like I said though, I was far too excited and giddy on the way home last night! We got rained upon, and that could have made things really horrid, but it instead changed everything a bit….making it all the more interesting. Tiff and I got so very wet, but that was ok since we were not in costume! The downside to it however, was the fact that we were so sure that it was going to be hot….we didnt take any sweatshirts or umbrellas or anything….so we shivered for much of the day! But it was good!!! We even ate ice cream at the end of the day, even though we were way too cold to eat it…..it was still really good!! A few of the shows got pushed out to the streets because the rain washed out thier stage and seating. They had to be changed a bit, due to not being on the stage….but it made it more interactive! A pretty cool thing for shows that already are very interactive to begin with!!
On Friday, we took Sarah {I took the photos at her open house.} and she got to spend a few hours with us at the Fest. I think we have made a new Ren Fest Fan!!! It was really too bad she had to have the time for the first time just two days before the Fest ended! She got a few pictures taken with Captain Sapphire, we all laughed and giggled so much that day! It was great! Kade even got the chance to stand in on the Chess game! They were down a few players, and so they asked two of the audience members to take the spots. K-D was on the side of the Musketeers and Constance {that is the side we stood on most often.} and stood inbetween Athos and Aramis. She did not have to do anything, but stand there holding the board for her piece while the players were on the board, and then stand off to the side while two were fighting.
On Saturday, it was a bit chilly, but we wore some of our costumes. I was in Chris’ and Tiff was in our Pirate garb. We got there before opening and stayed till after closing. We watched Violet in the parade…..and she walked past us four times before finally seeing us after it ended. One time during the parade, she seemed to be looking RIGHT at me, and you can see that in the pic I took, but she was so into the skit that she had, she didnt even see me!
Then, on Sunday, the last and final day, I got Caeley’s birthday gift!! At the merch wagon for the Musketeers and Pirates, the same place I got my shirt, they sell photos of the Musketeers together, the Pirates together, and then pics of each of them alone. For her birthday, I got the picture of the four Musketeers…….and my plan was to ask Athos to sign it for her. Very kidly he did, along with a Birthday message for her……and then he suggested that I have the others sign it aswell. They each did so, and she now will get this GREAT photo with messages from all the Musketeers! I told them all they have helped me secure the Best Big Sister award for this gift. D’Artagnan said “But yes of course it will!!” and when Tiff asked what she was going to have to get to top it…he said “You will have to get her TWO musketeer things! Other than that….there is no way to top this!” hee!! LOL!! AND Envy left a voicemail on Cassie’s cell for me! It was SOOOO funny!! I’m not kiddin Cass…..I want a recording of that! rofl!! Oh man….am I ever going to miss the Fest. But life goes on I guess!

What does life hold for me now that it is over? See,……this means that summer really is all over. For me, summer was the CL concert, then our vacation, then the Ren Fest! All three have now come and gone….Kade is going to be 20 soon, and her birthday often seems to mark the begining of winter for me. Uh, and Kade is going to be 20 soon! Can you believe it? 20!!! I am still trying to get a grip on the fact that I am 21……and Kade is turning 20 now!

Like I said before, a few posts ago, I think I said it at least…….I am going to get to pick up some extra hours at the carousel the next two weeks. For now, we are three! There are just three of us to run the place now. My boss, one other guy, and myself. I get to work 20 hours each week for the next two weeks. YAY! MONEY!!! WAHOOOOO!!!! Heee!!

My work week for this week is as follows: Tuesday 5-9:30, Wednesday 509:30,Friday 9:30-5, Saturday 6-9:30. I know I will work Sunday, I just dont know what the hours are yet. Proabably 2-6:30. And I dont know yet about next week!
