Oh my word…grrr!!

I just went upstairs and sat there as my sister read through the letter which I posted. Ya know what she said? “Wow…the way it is posted, it looks as if you don’t know how to spell at all!” OY OY OY! For some unknown reason….the program I used to type that out in first….took out letters that I KNOW I had in there! There were so many ‘y’s missing at the end of words. That is not at all like me! You all know I have trouble with spelling from time to time….but I do know how to end words!! lol!

Mr. McLaren, if you are reading this, please know that I am not as much of a dolt as you must think, given that last entry!! :( EEkk!! I really don’t know how it is that some of those words are missing the letters they are…and I am very embarrassed that it was posted that way. Thank you for the help you have offered!

Ok…now I’m off to put some missing consonants and vowels in a letter I wrote! :P I’m sure I will find them on the floor here somewhere! oohhgrrr.

In order to avoid that happening again, make sure to copy and paste your data into a plain text editor like Windows Notepad, to strip away the extraneous data from Microsoft Word. Also, view the post after it has been uploaded to the site, to check for formatting errors.

It messes the post up allot more if I do put it into a plain text editor, so I really don’t like doing that. I do often read over my posts, but it was late that night and I didn’t have the time. Typing and editing from my hand written notes of the letter took allot longer than I had thought. I also had another email to type out, and I pretty much did those and left the computer, with no time for much else, if I remember right.

Well, since this seems to be the place to say how to post long entries into blogs…

Usually, I type it directly into the blog text box, stopping every paragraph to copy and paste and save in Microsoft Word. That way, the format is correct for the blog, but I also have a copy saved elsewhere in case of a disappearing blog entry.

Anyway, nobody thinks you’re a dolt, Carm! :-)

Hey, speaking of festivals and actors-guess what! I am going to see “Phantom” in May. It is going to be at Western Michigan. This will be my 3rd time to see the production. It’s better then the movie. I will be scrimping and saving but it’s worth it for the sears we got. Last weekend, my friends and I were at a local production of “Sound of Music”. It was good. But, “Phantom” will be awesome. Hope all is well there. Later, Gator,
    Mis

    Sarah,

One thing you have to worry about using Microsoft Word is its formatting of apostrophes. It uses a non-Web version, which means your readers will see strange characters instead of the ones you intended to be displayed. It’s actually better to use a text editor like Textpad (textpad.com), or any plain-text editor with a spelling checker.
