Almost a year.

It is coming up a year since this site opened! Pretty cool huh?

So let me see. What has gone on here since last I posted?

I found out that I get a bonus for working for a year at the carousel, and it is the equivalent of 13.92 paid hours of vacation. I thought about using it when I do actually go on vacation, but I think it will help out right now, so I put in to have it on my next check. PRAISE THE LORD! This is such good news for me! I tell ya, there are some days where I just want to cry, wondering if I am going to make enough money to do everything I have my heart set on! The 13 hours that I put in for {i could not remember what the point amount was at the time I was talking with my boss, so I just had her send in for the 13} will amount to more than I make each pay check working there.

What does that all mean? I will have met my goal for my summer trips and adventures by mid June. Which in turn, means that I can start earlier on saving for the ticket to go to my good friends wedding!! Oh, I am so excited!!

We went to a Homeschool music groups concert. It was really nice. Our neighbors were participants in the program, which was why we went. I use to babysit two of them when they were both really little, and it is kinda weird to think of that now when I saw them up on the Church stage. The ‘little’ girl is now in her mid teens, and has grown taller than me! How is it possible to have moments of feeling old at 22? I mean really! Come on!:D lol!! They did a nice job though. She plays 5 instruments now!!! WOW. The two of us had the same piano teacher. However, while I opted to just plunk away on my own now and again, after our teacher moved away, she went on to have more lessons with someone else, and now gives them herself!!

Sometimes I wish that there had been a good choir goup around, for homeschoolers, when I was in school. That would have been a ton of fun.

In an effort to try and continue the weight loss I have enjoyed {I have lost 20 pounds since January, just due to some of the herbal meds I put myself on to take care of some health problems. The Lord has been so good to me, in allowing me to drop all that, with little work on my part!} I took off on a walk yesterday. I had only just made it out of the complex {not even two blocks} when I began to limp. OY! Now, I have taken LONG walks before {some too long, as you may remember. That eight mile walk, with Kade, resulted in a broken heel.} and I am often able to do fine. Just a few weeks ago, I went on a walk to take pictures. That was over a mile.

Thankfully, it was not a bone which had broken. Unfortunately, it WAS my shin splints. This is the fastest they have come on. I continued, thinking for a moment that I could ‘walk through the pain’, but then I realized what that pain was. Though I thought about calling home to have someone come pick me up, I just slowly walked back home. When I got home, my left shin was really hard, and the tell tale bump had appeared.  A few hours of icing and resting it saw me back walking fine. I took a short walk with Mum and the kids today. They went slow for my sake. I knew it was risky, but I wanted to test if having a wrap and ice pack on DURING the walk would help at all. And it did. We went farther than I managed the day before, and even though I did have some pain, it was no where near what it had been the day before. I made sure to once again rest my leg after returning home, so I would be ok for work.

Ok….I think that shall be all for the moment. I am too preoccupied with other things to concentrate on writing a nice post! Grant, Sarah and I are having our first conference chat in MONTHS. It is so much fun! We really need to do this more often!

Plus….I just found out that SOMEHOW, one of my CD’s got scratched and does not want to work well!! :( I already lost the first copy of this CD {it is an iTunes cd} and now this one got scratched! :(

Anyhoo….hope you are all in good health.
