I went to SILVER LEAF!!!

I spent yesterday at Silver Leaf. Like that is a surprise to any of you? I have only been talking about it for how long? A YEAR? heh. Well! I went, I saw, and I fell in love with a new festival!!

Kade, Mum, and the three kids also went! We had to be there early, and since it is quite a distance away, we all got up at half past FIVE to get ready! {yes! I can get up in the morning. Shocker aint it?}

We all did really well, if I do say so myself! Everyone was in garb, semi awake, and out in the van just after seven! I was going to do my makeup in the car, so Mum drove, however I am so thankful I decided against any makeup! MAN WAS IT HOT!!!

I cant tell you how bad I felt for the performers! You’ll see it once you look at the photos I took, but imagine chains, leather, armour, and layer upon layer, in weather where the humidity and such made it feel like 100 degrees!! That there were no fainting spells {at least that I heard of} is a blessing!

You have heard me say it before, and you will keep hearing me say it. The Knights Of Iron ROCK!! These people are not only great at what they do, and entertaining to watch, but they are also very kind, sweet, and just plain fun to be around.

I asked if I could help out with the Musketeer Fencing school, that is why we had to arrive at the grounds a bit early, so I could be told what was needed to be done. Not only did I get to work with some really fun people, there were also KOI members in and out of the area all day!

Honestly, I dont know how well I did with helping, if I was much help at all really. I kept getting the jacket directions messed up. If it was a front closing jacket, I put it on the customer to close in the back…and vise versa. Since I saw I was not getting it, I instead went to help out in blowing up the balloons and placing them on the helmets. {I blew up so many balloons in fact, that I got a nose bleed!! heh. Shocked me at first, but made sense when I put two and two together!} My hope is that I did not seem lazy. I had already worried about that, knowing that I have a tendency to stand in the background if I feel I dont know what is going on or what is meant of me….sometimes I am too afraid of making a mistake. The thing I had not thought about, was the fact that given my back, I was going to need to sit down some times, if not often, and that can really seem lazy. When tying the balloons on, though, we would put the helmets on a box, then lean over to attach them. Well, that got very hard on my bad back, and I was worried about not being able to walk after awhile. So I would sit and place the helmet on my lap. I never thought to say anything, though, about why I was doing so, until after I had left…and realized I must have seemed like a lump who did not want to do anything even though she asked to do it! So I hope they didnt think that!!!

All three kids got to bunny fence. If any of you remember the stories I told last year, of the kids at the festival, you will know how much they all took to the Knights Of Iron as well. The man who ran the Musketeer Fencing school was none other than one of their VERY favourite Musketeers. {meaning he was the man that played the musketeer that became a favourite and therefore, they are big fans of his.} I myself did not get any pics of the fencing they did, but I know Kade got a few. They were on cloud nine, I can tell you that much. Not only was their Musketeer friend there, he was the one that offered to have them fence, and then refereed their match…..AND fenced against Ley Ley!!!

Later, I walked around with Mum, Kade and the kids. Got to see a few shows and did a bit of shopping. Got Cassie’s wedding gift! Sorry Jacob……its just for Cassie!! lol. I also got another shirt from the KOI booth! YAY!!

We all watched the chess match! YES! I got to see the Human Chess match! I was so excited! Really, that is how to describe me all day, actually, but still!! heee.

At the end of the chess match, when the players were all hanging out talking to fans, we got a chance to talk with a few of the Knights Of Iron. They remembered us! It was really sweet! They even all jumped back into last years characters to sign shirts for the kids!! {in the pic you will see that I am sorta biting my lip and nail. I was not sure if I wanted to laugh more or cry more, since they were all being so sweet….so I just bit my nail and lip!! heee!!}

In a nut shell. Loved getting to work at the Musketeer school. Loved getting to see Knights Of Iron again. {I think they make ANY festival or event they are at fun!} Fell in love with a new festival. I am sore, I am really really sunburned, and it was all so very very worth it! :D

The photos I uploaded got messed up in order! :( Ohgrr! That does not, however, change the pictures. So, I will still post the link to them. . At the end of this post I will post some of my favourite pictures, then for the rest of them you can go see the link I will put up at the end. I was at the booth for a little over four hours, and then walking around for four. Even in just that four hours, I was able to take over 120 pictures!!! I get more and more worried about vacation and how many pictures I am going to want to take then!!

RANDOM STUFF

Last day at the store was Friday. Last day for two and a half months at least. It was fun. I kinda kept it quiet that it was my last day, but it ended up that most still knew about it anyway. They gave me balloons and a card! One of my managers even paid for my lunch!

One of the shortest signatures in my card: “I see how it is!” Made me laugh so hard!!! Made me laugh even more when I realized I was the only one that would get that without it having to be explained!!!

Seems, leaving your job is a good way to make you like it more! lol. I remember feeling that way when I left the first time. Not that I am in ANY hurry to get back to work {That was the shortest line in my card……my manager writing ‘Hurry Back’. Um…no? :D } but it is nice to leave and come back?!?! heee!!!!

Last week, I got to see ‘my kids’!!!!!! It was so great! I worry, given that they were only seven when I lived with them for that time, that they will someday forget me and Kade. No need to fear! Hugs galore when I got there. {Kade had already been there the Saturday before. I promised them I would get over to see them on Tuesday. They remembered my promise too! And were all glad I remembered!} We had a wonderful day with them, and another sad goodbye when we left. There were a few “Can I come home with you?”s and “When are you coming back to babysit us like last time?”s!! Ah, it is so nice to be loved and needed and missed!!!

Um……is that all the random stuff? Have yet to do the photo shoot. Probably this week. I would think at least. Just gotta figure out when my bro is busy and not. I have a few pics of the dress already, though I dont think it was finished then, and I dont want to show it off till it is in one of Davids awesome pictures!

K, picture time.

These are some of my favourites

Look how happy the kids look! {Sam is a tad scared I think….since Percard just said “Dont worry, I wont kill you……..suckers!” heeee!!!}

HUZZAH!

Two great Actresses!!!

And for the rest click here. Remember, for reasons I do not know, the order of them got all messed up! :(

Thanks to all of those who made my first visit to Silver Leaf such a blast!!!!

    Wow, I guess you didn’t have much to say today, eh! HA HA! Sounds like you had a great time. Good for you. How many of your pics do you print out? Saturday, we went swimming. Jim was working (mowing for 8 hours) but he joined us when he was done. One of our deacons has a lovely pool. Our neighbors have one also but it’s not as big. So, our Saturday was not as exciting as yours but it certanly wasn’t as warm and sweltering either. We borrowed our inlaws rv on Sunday. I would never tell them this but it will take a week to get it clean enough to use. The dogs camp with them and they go potty and shed everywhere. SO, I worked a lot yesterday and today, so far. We are leaving Sunday to go up near Gaylord. Two families from church are going also. More kdis for our kids to play with. We are very thankful to borrow the rv. And, we are excited about out first time. When are you leaving to go? I’ll bet your wigging-out! I would love to go see Henry and family and the area againg. Ok, work to do. Glad your weekend was a blast!
