Oh Dear

Yesterday I had to be to work by 7:30 in order to open. I always try to leave the house long before I actually have to be there, and am often out the door half an hour before my start time, even though the mall is just six miles away. When I moved my car to the parking spot right out front of our house, I noticed that something was just not right. After Mum and I got the windows cleaned off, I got behind the wheel to drive away, and found there was no heat. The car was having a hard time going from park to reverse and reverse to drive also. As I started off to work, Mum went in to call Dad to ask him if it was a problem that a greenish liquid was pouring out from behind the car. They were mid-conversation, when I intereupted, a bit emotional, to ask that Mum come pick me up from where my car died, and take me to work. I had not gotten but a block or two away from my house, when the heat of the engine began to raise. I decided to call Mum and not risk having it go up anymore, but as I was on the phone with her, trying to park my car in a nearby apartment parking lot, I watched as the needle got closer and closer to the ABOUT TO FRY point. There was little doubt in my mind when I turned the car off, what the problem was. I heard the same popcorn popping sound I heard not six months ago when the water pump went out.
Yippy. The water pump is now gone, and though the pump itself should still be covered, since it was just this summer that we replaced it, the labour will NOT be covered and that will most undoubtable be a few hundred dollars. Once again, my car is going to stay dead for who knows how long. There is still lots of water in the pump, so I didnt run it dry or anything. I dont know, other than the part just being bad, what happened to my poor car.
We know this is all in the Lord’s hands. He allowed this to happen and knows that it is the right time. I am now trying to figure out what the next step is, because I was going to look for a second job and now we are down to two cars and three people who have to be driven to work….plus Mum and the kids back here at home that need a vehicle for some of the week. I am so thankful that the Lord kept me from trying to drive my car anymore than I did. I would never have made it to work, but if I had not been watching the heat level, I may have made it onto the highway, and then my car would have fried.
