……have been added to the list of things to which I am allergic!

Just got back home from spending two and a half hours in the ER getting a shot of steroids in my hip, a breathing treatment, and being on the small oxygen nose bud things to help me breathe.

This one was not as bad as the others, but I am glad I went in, since I do not want to be in pain for days with my lungs hurting, as I know I would have been.

The cause? I bought little carrot cakes at work, and cut them up for our family desert tonight. The top has a delicious cream cheese frosting…..and is covered in chopped walnuts. By the second bite, I could feel my tongue swelling, my throat closing off, and my body getting itchy. Even after taking two Ben.Pills, the swelling continued in my face and ears, and we decided it was time I go in.

They gave me a note, saying that I am allowed to just rest tomorrow and not go to work, but I am going to try going in. I shall take the note with me, so that they know I am not making it up and understand that I may have a very hard day, or not be able to finish it all even.

That was my ‘fun’ for the evening.

The shot in the hip still stings. ow. But at least my lungs feel better.
